It's not even 10am!!

Here was the plan this morning:

I wake up, put on whatever crappy garbage "work" clothes that I wouldn't want to be caught dead in under normal circumstances, drive my kids to school, go back home, weigh myself, work out, get dressed in normal clothes, go get gas because if I don't get gas my van will die soon, go return the movie that was due back yesterday, go home, go to the homecoming parade, go to the football game, good night!!

How it's gone SO FAR (and it's not even 10am yet!!!!):

I woke up, put on whatever crappy garbage "work" clothes that I wouldn't want to be caught dead in under normal circumstances, which happened to be a NEON YELLOW Mervis Tshirt that was my HUSBANDS (and therefore six sizes too large for my already pretty large frame) and some sky blue sweat pants that are actually in pretty good shape because my neighbor gave them to me (probably after seeing the hole-y stained and frayed gross pants I usually wear when working in the yard lol), drove my kids to school.

Before we left the house I asked my youngest, who has a field trip today and needed a sack lunch, "Hey, do you have your lunch in your bag?"

"Yes, mom."

"Are you SURE?"

"YES!"

I then drove my kids to school. Got to school a little early for once so sat in the parking lot for 5 minutes waiting with my high school kid for his bus to show up. He told me all about the story he's working on, which sounds kind of cool and he promised to let me read it when he's done.

Once the bus showed up and the kids vacated the van, I drove home. The SECOND I walked through my front door I received a text that said, "Hey, I'm T-[Brittany's friend]. B didn't take her phone and she says to tell you Ben did not bring his lunch."

Knowing his class was leaving in seconds to go to the field trip, I grabbed his lunch (while thinking of what I SHOULD say since I ASKED HIM TWICE TO MAKE SURE HIS LUNCH WAS IN HIS BAG!!!!) and immediately drove it out to the school.

I considered calling the school and asking them to send my child out to the parking lot to retrieve his lunch but with all of today's safety measures I didn't think that would fly. So I got out wearing my GIANT NEON YELLOW SHIRT and blue sweatpants and walked ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE JR HIGH (I'm sure Brittany will hear about it....I'm very sorry, daughter) and ALL THE WAY THROUGH the elementary school where I was recognized at least twice to get to the elementary office. I tried to drop off the lunch there and asked them to call Ben in but they sent me directly to his classroom. So at least G's teacher and all his classmates saw me in my HORRIBLE OUTFIT and he has to live with that for the rest of the school year, lol.

Then I walked ALL THE WAY BACK THROUGH the elementary and ALL THE WAY BACK THROUGH the JR HIGH (where literally half the students know who I am) and back out and got into my van.

I looked at my gas gauge and willed it to be more full than it actually was so I could go home and change, but no dice. I live 10 miles away from the closest gas station. So I decided to suck it up and go get gas. Who do I have to impress in the town II moved away from? NOT ONE PERSON, so I went and got gas in my HORRIBLE OUTFIT.

At this point I considered going home to change. BUT the REASON I was out of gas was because this past week I had to drive from Champaign to Danville and/or vice versa nearly EVERY SINGLE DAY. Not only do I plan on driving clear up to Chicago this weekend but I will spend many days next week doing the same amount of driving, so in order to save on gas I left from the gas station and went in my HORRIBLE OUTFIT to return the movie. I didn't figure there would be many people there because it was so early but it was after school started.

Well guess what.....there was a large crew of guys literally RIGHT IN FRONT OF FAMILY VIDEO that could stare at me in my GIANT NEON YELLOW SHIRT and my sky blue sweatpants while I returned my movie.

So I drove all the way home highly embarrassed but I got done what I needed to get done. I came home and started some more laundry (I started the first load before I left) and now I can weigh myself and do a workout in my HORRIBLE OUTFIT and then shower and get dressed in my homecoming clothes for the parade today and the game tonight. I'm wondering how many comments I'll get about what I wore this morning but who cares? I got sh*t done and I'm happy my kid got his lunch and I have a full tank of gas and I got the movie returned.

Let's hope it stops raining soon so we can have a great homecoming!!

And now it's 10am, so let's get the rest of today done!

Random photos because why not?

50-CENT PEPSI MACHINE SIGHTING!!!!

I was so excited!! I only wish I had 50 cents to actually buy one (I can only assume they stock it with present-day pop lol).

I would DEFINITELY have one of these at my house if I could get my hands on one. I'd make the kids buy their own pop. Hey ~ 50 cents is a lot cheaper than the $1.75 you'd pay at the other pop machines out here!

Meet our watermelon:

I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but it's growing ON OUR FENCE. It's about a foot off the ground!!! We expect that it will eventually get too big/heavy and fall down (hopefully it won't bust when that happens) but for now it's very entertaining to see it growing up in the air.

Here's a random really cool flower we found while walking around looking for Pokemon. (Yeah, we're PoGo'ers) I took the picture for my sister Jen. She's a bit of a flower lover.

Hmmm, let's see....a couple more sky photos?? I'm famous for 'em (in my mind, anyway ha ha).

My pretty Illinois!

So my husband bought me this cool little metal model thing. I hadn't done a model since I was about 14 and FAILED MISERABLY at building a model, so I wasn't real keen on attempting one again, but this is different because it's METAL. So I bought a couple little tools (roundabouts a dollar at Harbor Freight) and got it done in about an hour. Here it is:

Hooray! It's a tiny Enterprise from the original Star Trek! It's funny cuz that model I failed epically at was also an Enterprise set. It's so shiny!!

I liked it so much that my husband bought me another metal model, but this one looks WAY more difficult. It's a carousel. We will see how I do, I guess.

And last but not least: I got one good picture of a perfect peach from our peach tree before the peaches suddenly became overripe and attracted every bee, wasp, fly and butterfly into my yard. I just let them have what was left of the peaches.
[hand model thanks to Trena]

I tried to make a peach pie but I did something wrong because it was a bit liquid-y. Still, it tasted good, so I may tweak the recipe I have and see if I can do it better next year.

Love you guys!

Hiiii!

Just a bunch of pictures to entertain ya! I'm too busy to have a life this time of year. I'm literally just typing this waiting for my nails to dry.

Saying good-bye to the only purse I used for 3 consecutive years without switching to another purse even once!! (Remember when I used to change my purse every single month? I wouldn't buy new, I'd just cycle through the purses I've collected over my purse-carrying years.)  I have literally used this purse (and only this purse) since we moved. So now it's all beat up and falling apart. I made very sure everything important was out of it before I threw it away. Now I'm using a stained-but-serviceable white(ish) purse that someone got me for Christmas right before we moved.

A couple of really nice Illinois scenery pictures before the corn dries up (dies) and Hoth weather moves in (winter). [P.S. you can click on any of these photos to see a bigger, more detailed version.]

Very awesome.

Beans. They stay green for a bit longer than the corn does (it gets planted later in the year, just FYI) so here's a shot of what it looks like now.

And for your last picture today: My 2 year-old kitty Crush (#CrushtheCat on Instagram) looking all majestic and stuff in a box in the sunlight. He liked this box so much I left it on the floor for him for about 2 weeks. Then I got tired of kicking it (when he wasn't in it) so it went into the burn barrel. Now he's back to sleeping on my pillow.

See you next time!
